TWUMC 2013

The Woodlands United Methodist Church

I have been a member of TWUMC since 1998 and there have been many happy memories for me at this church… but the best, by far, is 9 years ago today I married the love of my life, Chuck McGregor!   We are living the dream!

College Park High School

 Congratulations Graduates!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most.  We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous?'  Actually, who are you not to be?  You are a child of God, Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us.  And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."     Nelson Mandela

B-24 For Dad and his Honor Flight

On Tuesday my dad was one of about 80 Veterans to take his “honor flight” to Washington DC.   They were given the red-carpet treatment for a VIP day of visiting the war memorials built to honor their service.  As family, we were asked to write a note or send a card… and I included this sketch commemorating his favorite “war story!”

When my dad was flying in a training mission in a B-24 Liberator they encountered some turbulence, someone “lost his lunch” and my dad slipped and fell into the Turret-less hole on the bottom of the plane.   Thank God, he caught himself, and as they say, the rest is history!!

For more information visit www.honorflight.org.   And you can see photo’s from his trip on the Facebook page:  Honor Flight of West Central Florida.

Hill Country Get-away

Hill Country Get-away

I planned to work on this sketch while my husband was out of town on business… and couldn’t decide which view I liked best, the panorama including the guest-house or up close with more detail.  I really love the custom fence gate!  So, since I had a little extra time on my hands… I did both!   This is the Kott’s Texas Hill Country Family Ranch.  Now Suzanne has one to keep and one to share!!

Southern Colonial in Austin

Celebrating the New and
Cherishing the Memories of “HOME”

One of my favorite things is to be able to share in the celebrations of a new home.
This sketch was a gift from Jeff, a realtor in Austin for his clients at their closing last week.  There is something special about the hopes and dreams of a new home.  It’s like a blank canvas, just waiting to become a masterpiece.
Congratulations and wishing you all the best in your new home!!

And then there are the “masterpiece” memories!
The Christmas and birthday celebrations, neighborhood gatherings, and just living everyday life that is so precious.  My client, who now lives in California, asked me to do this house sketch as a reminder of those special times from when she lived in The Woodlands.
Thank you Trish for giving the opportunity to capture those memories on paper for you and your family!
